The programmes includes Irish news, local events and activities with an Irish flavour, as well as interviews and live music from visiting Irish musicians. It also includes book and movie reviews and on occasion some political views/reviews. Capital Irish has interviewed many Irish celebrities over the years the most prestigious being the former Irish President Mary McAleese. Our presenters come from all walks of life and each generation is represented! Capital Irish has been making programs for the Irish Community in Wellington, New Zealand since 2003. These programmes are also broadcast on Wellington Access Radio.

This week on Capital Irish, Andy Linton is our presenter and he has special guest in studio. Dónal Gunning joins us once again to play some tunes and catch us up on what he’s been up to in the Wellington music scene since he last called into the show back in February 2023. We also get to hear a selection of Christmas songs chosen by Andy.
