The programmes includes Irish news, local events and activities with an Irish flavour, as well as interviews and live music from visiting Irish musicians. It also includes book and movie reviews and on occasion some political views/reviews. Capital Irish has interviewed many Irish celebrities over the years the most prestigious being the former Irish President Mary McAleese. Our presenters come from all walks of life and each generation is represented! Capital Irish has been making programs for the Irish Community in Wellington, New Zealand since 2003. These programmes are also broadcast on Wellington Access Radio.

This week, Finbarr shares an update on a recent talk held at the Hutt Valley Irish society, given by Kevin Toolis, who is currently touring NZ with his series "How the Irish teach us to live, love and die". You can listen to a full interview with Kevin Toolis from RNZ by following this link: 'My father knew how to die because his community had shown him how to die'. Finbarr also shares some updates from a busy March in the Irish community in NZ, as well as what's coming up in April.
